We invites you to participate in Alkisah… (Once upon a time…), a storytelling workshop—about and around the exhibition—together with Hyphen—. Each participant is invited to carve their own narrative and publish it in the form of a 7–10 minute podcast episode. Alkisah is held in conjunction with “Figures, dedication and civilisations”, a presentation by Hyphen— as part of the Singapore Biennale 2025 Singapore Biennale 2025 at the Singapore Art Museum, that traces an ongoing conversation around "Sesudah banjir itu (When the flood is over)"—a citizen-led initiative to conserve and contest the cycle of dioramas at the National History Museum beneath Monas, Jakarta. At the Singapore Art Museum, Diorama No. 44—which depicts the 1963 handover of the administrative control of West Irian from the Netherlands to Indonesia—becomes a site to question how sovereignty, solidarity, and history itself are represented through speech, through sculpture, through absence.

What you'll do?

Over four sessions, you'll gain insights from the exhibition curated by Hyphen— and learn how to translate your reflections into a polished narrative.

The ultimate takeaway?

You'll create a 7–10 minute recorded narration that will be published as a podcast episode by Hyphen—, showcasing your voice and unique perspective to a wider audience.
